Six Sentence Sunday #6

Welcome back to Six Sentence Sunday, a place where 100's of authors can give us a six sentence tease of their latest book or work in progress. 

This weekend is the official kick-off of the summer season and Monday, we celebrate Memorial Day- a day to honor fallen heroes, observed on the last Monday in May. I came across this quote earlier and it gave me chills. I wanted to share this with everyone.

"These heroes are dead. They died for liberty-they died for us. They are at rest. They sleep in the land they made free, under the flag they rendered stainless, under the solemn pines, the sad hemlocks, the tearful willows, the embracing vines. They sleep beneath the shadow of the clouds, careless alike of sunshine or storm, each in the windowless palace of rest. Earth may run red with other wars-they are at peace. So, in last weeks SSS, I gave you one of my favorite lines from Stu. If you missed it, you can catch it HERE. Stu blurbs out some funny stuff in this story and he's the type of guy that says just what he's thinking. 

In this next Six, Stu has decided to ask his girlfriend to marry him. He's decided to let Alex, his employee and boss, in on it. Here's what Stu has to say:

[Stu] He pulled out a small red bag and sat it on his desk. “If you peep a word of this to anyone, even that girl of yours, I’ll cut your balls off. Is that clear?”

Alex shook his head in understanding and eyed the bag suspiciously. “What is it, a bomb?” he smirked.
