The Lucky Seven

The sweet Mae Clair has nominated me in The Lucky Seven. I'm honored and very intrigued by the rules. Let's have a bit of fun, shall we?

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rules state to post seven lines from an unpublished work of fiction by following these rules:
Go to page 7 or 77 in your current manuscript (fiction or non-fiction)
Go to line 7
Post the next 7 lines or sentences on your blog as they are (no cheating, please!)
Tag 7 other authors to do the same
I've been working for a few months on my second novel, Painted Memories. After checking the 7th and the 77th page... the 7th page was just too boring to matter. So I went from page 77.
It's told in 1st person, from Lilly's point of view. In the setting below, Lilly is talking to her good friend, Andrea, about her 'guy' problems and is receiving a bit of advice from her.
"....There is nothing wrong with having fun with Drew or Tyler or even both of them… on different occasions of course. If not, we’re going to have to switch to a whole different subject matter.” She snickered and I couldn’t stop the grin from spreading across my face. “But what I’m trying to say is, if at the end of the day you find you would have rather spent that time alone then with the guy you were with… maybe that guy isn’t the guy for you. And that’s okay. You don’t have to figure everything out one guy at a time. If you're upfront with your intentions, which it sounds like you have been, you have nothing to feel guilty over.”
So that's my Lucky Seven, I hope you enjoyed it. And now for my nominees!
  1. Liv Rancourt
  2. Wendy S. Russo
  3. Kelly Seguin
  4. Suzan Butler
  5. Carrie Crain
  6. Paula Martin
  3. Great post, Loni! It sounds like Andrea is a bit of a sage with all that fantastic advice. I really like the "if at the end of the day..." line. Wonderful! I'm finding 7's to be a heck of a lot of fun, especially because you really can't pick and chose like in Six Sentence Sunday.
  4. I love these lucky seven posts... so much fun. Great excerpt... I like the light humor overlaying the deeper message of what she should be doing...
