Woohoo!! It's that time again! I love Six Sentence Sunday, especially since I've started some snippets from my upcoming novel, Painted Memories!
So the last two Sunday's, I've shown just how much of a klutz my main character Lilly is. Also, she's terrified of snakes. So if you like to catch up all you need to do it read the intro and snippet on on Sunday #7 and Sunday #8. Go... I'll wait while you catch up. . . .
Did you read them? That Lilly is just so clumsy!
For this weeks Six, I'm skipping ahead quite a bit to a cute snippet that I l♥ve! In this scene, Lilly (a 3rd grade school teacher) has had a bit of a "kissy" moment with Drew a few days earlier and she can't stop thinking about it. One side of her just wants to be friends, thinking that if they were in a relationship and things headed South... so would their friendship. But the other side of her wants to see what happens.

As she sit at her thinking about him and what it is that makes his different than any of the other guys she's dated, she subconsciously doodles on a piece of paper.
The way he spoke to me, soft and caring… heart… the way he held my face in his hands… heart… the way his lips brushed mine… heart… how he teased my lip with the tip of his tongue… heart.
“Hey there, what’cha doing?”
I nearly fell out of my seat when I heard his voice and quickly swept the papers in a pile before looking up to see Drew standing in front of me. “Oh hey, I’m just grading papers,” I said, trying to sound casual.
He looked down, “Huh… you put hearts on their papers instead of smiley faces?”
"I like to change things up.” Lie, total lie.

Love that six!
ReplyDeleteOh my! I giggled out loud!!!! Great six!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHeavy sigh, what I wouldn't give to make a woman fumble around like that. ;) Refreshing how you bring out so many emotions in just six sentences; giddiness, embarrassment, and comedy.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sunburn remedy. The tops of my feet thank you. Now for my calves. Ugh. ;)
A very amusing and funny way to express the love she has for him. Good use of comedy, I really got a kick out of it. :)
