Hi there! How was your week? I hope it was a good one! It's that time again... Six Sentence Sunday.
For this Sunday's Snippet I'm sticking with my current wip, Painted Memories.
Drew, his father, and Lilly have just finished up dinner with dad at the beautiful Plantation Gardens fine dinning restaurant. A restaurant set in a gorgeous plantation house with an amazing garden in the backyard. Koi ponds are here and there, with various flowers and bushes and trees grace the yard.
Lilly asked Drew if they can walk through the garden one more time before they leave since it's dark outside now and wasn't when they first got there.
Here's her description of what she sees.
I pulled Drew toward a pond that didn’t stand out to me before, but now looked at if you couldn’t miss it. Tea lit candles floated among the lily pads, while a large weeping willow tree’s branches hung low and tickled the water’s surface. The glow from the shining branches lit up the tree trunk and I walked over to look up its canopy. Like illuminated dew drops on a spider’s web, glittery lights tangled up the truck into its lower branches.“It’s so beautiful,” I whispered, as if speaking any louder would tarnish its beauty. Drew walked around me and stood between me and the tree. “I’m going to have a backyard like this someday.”
Thanks for stopping by and until next Sunday, I have you have an awesome week!

DeleteHere I am, responding from beautiful McCall, Idaho with my dumbphone. My service here is erratic, so we will see if this post goes through. It can be very difficult making it work. ;)

Thanks Mel! So glad you found the time to stop in with you're being lazy at the cabin!
Deletelol. But sipping mojitos and writing in the open air on the back porch with birds chirping ... that's hard work. ;) And I was thinking about all my writing friends the entire time.
